Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about chilled careers

What experts are available to come to my school?

They are more than 20 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Ambassadors from the chilled food industry. These enthusiastic role models visit schools and science and careers fairs to talk about their work and about the career opportunities in chilled food. Can I visit a production site with my class?

Production sites are extremely busy, highly pressurised environments. Hygiene and safety are paramount and so it’s impossible to have large groups of visitors. However the Chilled Food Association (the people behind Chilled Education) are sometimes able to organise visits for teachers. To find out more….

What resources do you have? How do I know that they relevant to me?

Our range of free downloadable lesson plans are developed with science and D&T teachers and have been trialled in the classroom.

The practical resources have also been designed by food science and education professionals to ensure that they are both accurate and engaging.

What is a Cool School?

If we’ve met you at a careers or science fair, or we have sent you some of our resource then you may have agreed to share your school’s contact details with us. This means that your school is a Cool School. From time to time you’ll receive free newsletters that tell you about new resources. You’ll be part of a growing network of teachers who are helping their students on the path to fulfilling careers.

I have a Glo Germ Kit – how do I get more of the fluid?

What training courses are available?
My students don’t want to do ‘A’levels – can they still follow a career in chilled? What should they do?
