Successful graduation will result in a BSc.
If you are someone who is fascinated by food, enjoys the science behind the sandwich and considers the big food debate a career in the chilled food sector could be for you. Diet, health, safety, manufacturing, production and global sustainability issues are all encompassed within this hugely diverse area.
A food science-based degree is sought after by many employers and is available at a number of universities:

Most universities run combined degrees and there are many to choose from depending on your preferred area; Food Science and Microbiology, Nutrition, Business, Technology and so on.
Degree Length
Most degree courses are 3 years or 4 with a year’s placement.
Assessment
Typically the main means of assessment is by exam.
Entry Requirements
Most universities require at least two science subjects at A Level.

Graduates are highly sought after for management, laboratory, academic, research and boardroom posts. For example, the University of Surrey claims to place more than 85% of their graduates into graduate level jobs.
