The UK chilled food industry is the most advanced in the world with more than 25 major companies, employing around 60,000 people.  Between them they offer a wide variety of jobs, excellent career development and competitive salaries for people of very high calibre who can work to exacting standards under pressurised conditions. Many offer established graduate training programmes and the opportunity to travel.

Typical jobs in the chilled food industry fall into four main groups:

  • Laboratory-based roles assuring the safety and quality of food
  • Development roles working with food to develop and launch new products
  • Working in the supply chain with suppliers and customers
  • Working with teams in factories to help develop good manufacturing practices
